In this Covid-19 environment we find ourselves in, many people are finding themselves working from home for the first time. Or working from home on a very consistent basis for the first time. However, in our workplaces we are very used to having all the right tools, equipment and set up to keep as a safe and comfortable as possible. What do we do when we are on our own, and our equipment cupboard looks a lot like the pantry?
We all have a responsibility to be making sure we are as safe, comfortable and productive as possible.
I want to share with you a fantastic resource from REVA Wellness. The information comes from two blog posts that REVA have created to help all of us get set up so that we are putting our bodies in the most optimal position possible. After all no one wants the stress of back, neck, shoulder and arm pain while we are trying to manage the COVID-19 chaos right?
While sitting at your desk
‘Most people know that poor posture at the desk can increase the risk of experiencing pain in certain areas of the body, usually neck, upper back or lower back. But, all of the joints matter, because they affect each other.’
Please download your FREE PDF checklist from REVA wellness to help you get set up with your health in mind while you are sitting

While standing at your desk
And REVA haven’t just got us covered with sitting at a desk, they have us sorted with Standing desks too
https://www.revawellness.com.au/wellnessnews/standingdesk
Please, please, please heed all the warnings – sit to stand is not the one to shop to fix all of your bodily discomfort – you need to MOVE!
“Not surprisingly, just like sitting, poor posture increases the risk of muscle strain and pain. Just because you are standing, doesn’t, not sitting, doesn’t automatically mean your posture at the desk improves. You need to both be mindful of your stance as well as make sure you’re set up to support an ergonomic posture.’
I can’t stress enough the importance of moving, so in the coming week I will share with you some ideas on how we can get moving (that don’t require a gym membership or a yoga studio subscription)
Until next Blog
Here’s to making work, work well.
